The Ski Descent of Mt. Yunam Peak

Mt. Yunam Peak rises to 6,111 meters in the Lahaul region of Himachal Pradesh and presents one of the few true ski mountaineering objectives in the Indian Himalayas.

The route traverses wide snow slopes, glaciated sections, and smooth alpine terrain, making it ideal for controlled ski descent after a successful summit climb.

Unlike traditional peak climbing expeditions, this journey focuses equally on the ascent and the ski descent, demanding strong skiing technique, endurance, and high-altitude awareness.

Base Camp (~4,800m) and Summit Camp (~5,500m) provide structured acclimatization before the final summit push and ski run.

Summit day combines mountaineering with an unforgettable backcountry ski descent from high altitude, offering panoramic Himalayan views and a unique sense of achievement.

Led by certified ski-mountaineering instructors, the expedition follows strict avalanche safety protocols and weather-based decision-making.
