White Expedition: what the evidence shows

White Expedition is a Himalayan expedition company founded and led by Rahul Thakur, known as Ricky Mountaineer. Its current About profile records more than 10 years of Himalayan field experience, 35 summits above 6,000m, 200+ expeditions led, 300+ climbers guided, four high-altitude rescue operations, and 10 first ascents of previously unclimbed and unnamed 6,000m peaks.

Those figures are the company’s current published record, not an independent ranking of expedition operators. For the founder, team, base, and contact details, see the White Expedition About page. For current objectives, use the expedition catalogue and peak categories.

Leadership and documented climbing work

The team’s public profile identifies Rahul Thakur as founder and lead guide. The About page lists named solo, speed, alpine-style, winter, and exploratory records across Yunam Peak, Deo Tibba, Reo Purgyil, Manirang, Kang Yatse, Mt. Nun, UT Kangri, and Kiager Ri.

The Reo Purgyil expedition page and Reo Purgyil fastest-ascent story show how a current objective and a dated achievement account should be distinguished. The achievement story is not a promise that a standard team itinerary will reproduce an alpine-style speed effort.

Current expedition coverage

White Expedition’s current registry includes guided objectives in the 5,000m, 6,000m, and 7,000m bands, including Friendship Peak, Hanuman Tibba, Deo Tibba, Kang Yatse I and II, Yunam Peak, Reo Purgyil, Manirang Peak, Kiager Ri North Face, Papsura, Mt. Nun, and remote Karakoram objectives. Availability, dates, prices, permits, and team composition are operational facts that must be confirmed for the intended departure.

Peak pages are the correct place to assess route, terrain, duration, preparation, and current enquiry details. This overview should not duplicate every itinerary or make a universal suitability claim.

Stated operating approach

The public About profile describes safety-led decisions, small teams, practical logistics, clear communication, and professional support. These are stated practices, not safety guarantees. Actual route plans, acclimatisation, equipment, emergency procedures, and turnaround decisions depend on the objective and conditions and should be confirmed with the team.

The company’s documented work also includes high-altitude rescue participation, route exploration, first ascents, and winter or alpine-style projects. Individual achievement claims should be read in their named, dated expedition context rather than as blanket performance claims for every departure.

Choosing an expedition company responsibly

Before booking, ask for the current itinerary, inclusions and exclusions, permit position, guide and support roles, equipment responsibilities, acclimatisation plan, communications, emergency process, cancellation terms, and suitability requirements. Compare those details with your experience and the route’s actual commitment.

No company profile can guarantee a summit, eliminate mountain risk, or substitute for an individual readiness conversation.

Summary

White Expedition’s strongest evidence is its named founder record, current peak registry, documented expedition stories, and clearly stated operating approach. Use this page as a company context, then move to the relevant peak page and confirm current operational facts before making a booking decision.
