About Kiager Ri Peak (6100m)

Kiager Ri stands at an altitude of approximately 6100 meters in the Changthang region of Ladakh. The mountain rises above the vast high-altitude plateau surrounding Tso Moriri, one of the highest lakes in the world.

The peak offers:

• wide snow slopes
• high altitude expedition experience
• stunning views of the Changthang plateau
• relatively less crowded climbing routes

Because of these features, Kiager Ri has become a popular expedition for climbers who want to experience their first 6000-meter Himalayan summit.

White Expedition – The Leading Team on Kiager Ri

Over the years, White Expedition has built a strong reputation for organizing successful expeditions on Kiager Ri.

Led by Ricky Mountaineer, the company has completed more than 15 successful summits of the mountain with international and Indian climbers.

Through professional guiding, strong logistics, and deep experience in the Himalaya, White Expedition has become one of the most reliable teams for climbers attempting Kiager Ri.

First Ascent Achievements on Kiager Ri

White Expedition has achieved several remarkable milestones on Kiager Ri.

First Winter Summit

One of the biggest achievements was completing the first winter summit of Kiager Ri by a team from White Expedition.

Winter conditions in Ladakh are extremely harsh. Temperatures can fall below −30°C, and strong winds along with deep snow make climbing extremely difficult. Despite these challenges, the expedition successfully reached the summit in winter, marking an important moment for Himalayan mountaineering.

First North Face Summit

Another major achievement was the first successful summit from the North Face of Kiager Ri.

The north side of the mountain presents a more demanding route with steeper snow slopes and technical sections. Successfully climbing this face demonstrated the technical strength and experience of the White Expedition team.

First Snowboard Descent

The team also completed the first snowboard descent from Kiager Ri, adding another unique milestone to the mountain’s climbing history.

Expedition leader Ricky Mountaineer led the team during this adventure, combining mountaineering and snowboarding in one expedition.

Descending a 6000-meter Himalayan peak on a snowboard requires not only climbing strength but also exceptional snow riding skills.

Youngest Girl to Summit Kiager Ri in Winter

Another inspiring moment during the expedition was when an 18-year-old girl successfully summited Kiager Ri in winter with White Expedition.

This achievement became one of the youngest female winter ascents of the mountain and demonstrated that with proper guidance and preparation, young climbers can achieve incredible goals in the Himalaya.

The climb also showed the professional guiding standards of White Expedition and the leadership of Ricky Mountaineer.

Why Kiager Ri is a Perfect 6000m Expedition Peak

Many climbers choose Kiager Ri because it offers a true expedition experience without extremely technical climbing.

Some of the main reasons include:

Typical Kiager Ri Expedition Itinerary

A standard expedition usually begins in Leh, the main gateway to Ladakh.

The journey then continues to Korzok village near Tso Moriri, which serves as the base for acclimatization and summit preparation.

From here climbers approach the slopes of Kiager Ri and attempt the summit during a suitable weather window.

Leadership of Ricky Mountaineer

The success of many Kiager Ri expeditions is strongly connected to the experience of Rahul Thakur.

Born in Shimla, Ricky has built a reputation as a strong Himalayan mountaineer known for speed ascents, alpine-style climbs, and technical expeditions.

His leadership and passion for exploring new routes have helped White Expedition grow into one of the most respected adventure companies in India.
